DIY Skull Envelope Clutch

I don't know if I'm just mega picky but I struggle finding clutches I like. I either want a cute, bright pattern, or something plain and simple, because they go with so much.

So, if you're like me and you find it hard it find something you like, then here is a step by step guide to a simple clutch that will go with any outfit.

What you will need:
A pen
Ruler or tape measure
Needle and thread (or sewing machine)
Decor of your choice (I opted for a skull stud)
Any material of your choice (in this case black faux leather)

First, draw the shape of your clutch. I know this one is an envelope shape but you can do any shape you like.

Sew the sides together, but make sure it's the wrong way round as these is what will create a seam, so you there's no messy stitches on the outside. This would be much neater on a sewing machine, but you get the idea!

Then turn it the right way round et voila! You have a basic envelope clutch. All you need to do now is add your decor. I went for a skull stud because I'm obsessed with skulls and it makes it a little more edgy.

Show me if you end up making one, for yourself or someone else!

Christmas with Motel Rocks!

I don't know about you but I always feel so much pressure when it comes to Christmas parties. Not that I'm worried I won't look amazing (ofc I will..), but there's always the dilemma of what kind of party is it? Who's going? Is it low key? Should I wear heels? SHOULD I EVEN GO?!

It's the worst.

So I've put together for you an eye catching, but not sticking-out-like-a-sore-thumb outfit that could easily be worn with flats for more casual parties. And if that isn't enough. I'm also giving you 20% off everything you see in this look! I'm so cute, I know.

I love bodycon midi dresses at the moment; I just think they're so classy and so sexy. Teamed with this gold clutch I'd say you were ready for any old fash event but these JC's just make it just that little more edgy, just that little more eye catching. If they're a bit too 'out there' for you, then just stick on your favourite black velvet heels and you'll still look crazy hot.

tweed? well I say

I always need to look my best for work; Laura Ashley has a reputation and a standard that I must make sure I rise to. But when it's absolutely bitter outside and the front doors keeps opening as customers file in, all I really want to wear is my onesie, my mittens, and maybe my duvet.
But I can't, and I doubt you can either, so here's how I work around it.
However, if you can then please tell us all what job you do and how we can get it because if I could just stroll into work wrapped in my duvet I would be one happy lady.

Jumper - Laura Ashley £70
Pencil skirt - Laura Ashley £65

I'll say it before and I'll say it again - pencil skirts are fantastic. Every girl looks crazy hot in one regardless of shape, they're perfect for a night out, dinner, brunch, shopping and work. I know jumpers can often be lumped in the 'casual' section of fashion, but I think if you can find a really beautiful, good quality jumper then there's nothing wrong with teaming it with a pair of heels for an occasion where casual definitely isn't on the dress code. I wear these both together with my favourite heeled boots and I'm ready for a day filled with styling at the dressing rooms and climbing up ladders to get that duck egg blue roll of wallpaper.

Add a bit of lipstick to brighten up the outfit and you're all good to go!

christmas wishlist

It's coming to that time of year again where I dream of the day I will be filthy rich and able to buy myself and others expensive gifts to let them know I appreciate them (and myself).
But until then I can only look at pretty pictures of what I'd kill to get my hands on this year. If any of you are feeling kind I can give you my address so you can send it my way. Thank you.

Three Floor - £128
This, for me, is the most perfect dress for this time of year. The colours are what you see every Autumn/Winter - those deep purples and gorgeous burgundies, and would be beautiful for New Years celebrations. Teamed with a pair of black velvet heels, a simple black clutch, a quick swipe of a dark lipstick and you have yourself the most glamorous look anyone will have ever laid eyes on.

Alexander McQueen - £150
I'm sure if you're a regular reader you'll known by now that I love all things skulls, so that obviously means I'm in love with all things McQueen - and this ring is no exception. It's such a simple way to add life and edge to a dull outfit. Especially for me as I tend to wear a lot of simple, dark outfits, so any accessory like this will do it me world of wonders. I'm not a huge fan of wearing a lot of jewelry all at once, which is why this ring is a good choice; it's quite a statement so I don't need to fuss over anything else.

Marc by Marc Jacbs - £279
I love all things rose gold. All things. I already have a plain, chunky rose gold watch which I wear every single day and couldn't possibly live without it. But it's always fantastic to have two watches. For those days that I feel I'd like to just change things up a little. I may not want to wear a plain rose gold watch, I may want to wear chunky grey watch with the most gorgeous rose gold detailing. I am dribbling whilst typing this; it is so perf.

What would you KILL for this year?!

for her

Stuck for what to get your BFF or girlfriend? Here are a few things that may give you some inspiration!

Pieces - £32

I feel lost if I don't own at least one bag that I can take everywhere and just dump stuff in. Something I can use for a shopping trip, or just a night away from home. And I think this one is perfect for just that.

ASOS - £9

It's absolutely freezing outside, and these are absolutely adorable. I need say no more.

Dogeard - £32

I really do think these are adorable; I love having a pair of studs that I can just wear with everything and not have to worry about and these would add edge to any look with the least amount of effort ever. Perfect.

Cornucopia

Cornucopia Clothing is a North West based brand run by the gorgeous Rebekah Esme, and "is your provider of handmade and individual garments both vintage and current".
I was lucky enough to be chosen to be a Cornucopia representative, which is kind of brilliant because it means I get to show you all loads of amazing stuff that you'll love.

Cornucopia has only just recently gone live, although prices are still incredible and Rebekah really knows what she's doing, give the site a few months and I know it will flourish into a wonderful place of magical things.

These pieces are really a really cute edition to my jewelry collection, although I have a feeling my sister may end up stealing the key necklace..
I'm in love with my handmade cross bracelet! It adds a bit of edge to any boring outfit and because it's handmade it makes me feel extra special.
Go and check things out for yourself on the Cornucopia Facebook Page or the Cornucopia Shop. Let me know what you think; I know I'm a happy bunny.

for him

I hate buying for guys but luckily I'm a single pringle and only have my Papi to worry about. But all of you out there I've tried to put together some suggestions! Obviously you know your boyf way better than I do but if you're still really stuck then here are few possibilities under £40 for the new relationship, the long relationship, and if you just sort of fancy him.

ASOS - £25

Huf - £38

ASOS - £5.99

Markus Lupfer

It would be a disgusting understatement to say that I am madly in love with the Markus Lupfer creations you can find on ASOS. I really don't think I can put into words how much I drool and sigh and get love hearts for pupils when I look at it.
It's the leather and the kaleidoscope pattern, and just the utter luxe and edgy feel it has to it. He just brings classics such a the LBD, oversized clutch, and pleated leather skirt (a staple for me!) to life, which is why I think I fell for this collection so hard.

DIY Studded Camo Jacket

What you will need:
Camouflage jacket (or any jacket of your choice, mine was an old one of my Dad's)
Variety of studs (dead cheap from ebay)
A pen for marking
Scissors for poking holes
And maybe some mega cool badges

Just mark out roughly where you want the studs to go, make sure if you're doing them in a line or some sort of pattern that they're even, or it'll look a bit messy.

Put the studs wherever you like, in any kind of way you like. I have a badge with my name on that my Dad had made for me in Afghan, which I thought would look perf on this! But any kind of badge or sew on patch might look cute.

And there you have it, as simple as that!
A great way to give an old jacket some new life, or just something to make cool jackets look even cooler.

Tique Goodies!!!!!

You may have stumbled across Tique on ASOS Marketplace (if you haven't go and check it out here!), the lovely lady sales the cutest jewelry and collars, and everyone loves a cute collar.

I thought it would be apt to show you the gorgeous leather collar Tique sent me with my puppy. Because dogs wear collars.. and well my dog is the most handsome dog EVER. And he happened to pop into the picture so you're just gonna have to deal with it.

Tique also sent me some really sweet stackable rings which I am in love with!

I really recommend taking a look at Tique; the collars come in all sorts of different materials and are such a good price. I think they're a really good way to make any outfit look completely different. This leather one makes an outfit look more edgy, whereas a lace one would just look adorable.

You can follow Tique on Twitter here, and you so totally should because these pieces are great.

rebel-yuth

I have a very talented friend who goes by the name of John Ryan Speed and drawing fashion is his game. He's 22, an illustrator and a creative graduate. He uses watercolours, ink, and illustrator mix media. He works with mainly vintage, military and work wear themed clothing, and illustrations. He is inspired by vintage and menswear heritage clothing such as Nigel Cabourn, (who recently tweeted his work as talented, which is wicked), Carhartt, Edwin, Levis and vintage Ralph, and certain iillustrated streetwear, and THIS is his work.

I really really love his work, and I really think more people should be seeing it regularly because he's far too talented to go a miss! Check out his blog and be ready to be impressed http://rebel-yuth.tumblr.com/
